Health and Safety Policy 2026

LMHC Rising Voices believes that health and safety is a vital component of all choir rehearsals, events, and performances. Our Freelance Music Directors, members, and volunteers are the most important asset to this Charity, and therefore their health, safety, and welfare are a priority at all times.

We believe that prevention is not only better, but also more cost‑effective than cure. Good health and safety practice is central to our ethos and values.

From a legal perspective, the Charity is committed to complying with all relevant health and safety legislation, where it is reasonably practicable to do so.

We are also committed to ongoing monitoring and review, ensuring continual improvement in the management of health and safety across all our activities.

We aim to:

  • Provide adequate control of the health and safety risks arising from our activities.

  • Maintain safe and healthy conditions for rehearsals, workshops, performances, and events.

  • Provide and maintain safe equipment, ensuring it is suitable and used appropriately.

  • Provide adequate information, instruction, training, and supervision to Music Directors, volunteers, and members.

  • Consult with Music Directors, volunteers, and members on matters affecting their health and safety, encouraging open communication and shared responsibility.
